Today's Morning Edition music is based on a concert Friday night at Target Center in Minneapolis, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Minneapolis-based Rhymesayers record label.

Since its inception in 1995, Rhymesayers has evolved into a major national force in hip-hop music. Many Rhymesayers artists, including Atmosphere, Brother Ali and P.O.S., will be performing Friday night.

So will Musab who, 20 years ago, was featured on the first Rhymesayers CD. Back then he was known as Beyond.
