A town hall forum hosted Dec. 2 by the Commonwealth Club of California discussed the most effective ways to combat the so-called Islamic State, evaluating the effectiveness of current strategies and whether a wider-scale war is looming.
Gloria Duffy, president and CEO of the Commonwealth Club of California and former deputy assistant secretary of Defense, moderated the discussion.
Her guests include Abbas Milani, director of Iranian Studies at Stanford; Joseph Felter of the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford and former U.S. Army Special Forces; Kim Zetter of Wired magazine; and Sergey Petrov, consul general of the Russian Federation in San Francisco.
