Today's Morning Edition music is from an interview with Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams, who are out with a new album on Red House Records.
They will also be the opening act for Jackson Browne when he performs Tuesday night at the State Theatre in Minneapolis. [Editor's note: The State Theatre announced Tuesday that, due to a water leak, the Jackson Browne concert will be held at Minneapolis' Orpheum Theatre.]
Until this album, Campbell and Williams, who are married, worked primarily as supporting musicians.
Campbell played guitar and other instruments in Bob Dylan's band for seven years. Williams, meanwhile, sang with Emmylou Harris and others.
A turning point for them came while they were working with Levon Helm after he was diagnosed with throat cancer. Helm hosted informal concerts known as midnight rambles at his house in Woodstock, N.Y.
MPR Morning Edition producer Jim Bickal talked with Campbell and Williams about how the rambles led to the creation of their own music.
