Today's Morning Edition music features "Congregation" by the Duluth-based trio Low. The song is featured on "Ones and Sixes," which was released last week and is the band's 11th album.
The album is enjoying much praise.
• "The album is assured and seductive, to the point that the despair underpinning so many of the songs isn't immediately obvious," writes critic James Reed of The Boston Globe.
• "These disconcerting melodies seep into the subconsciousness and take out a room for months at a time," writes reviewer Greg Kot of Sound Opinions.
• "This is an album that cracks and sizzles, bursting with an electric energy and swelling into enormous, cavernous moments," writes The Current's Andrea Swensson, who calls "Ones and Sixes" one of the finest of the band's 22-year career.
