Six candidates have filed to run in the special election in Minnesota House District 3A.
Four DFLers, one Republican and one independent want to fill the vacancy caused by the recent death of Rep. David Dill, DFL-Crane Lake.
The DFL candidates are Rob Ecklund, Bill Hansen, Eric Johnson and Heidi Omerza. The Republican is Roger Skraba. Kelsey Johnson is running as an independent.
The filing period ended at 5 p.m. Monday. The special election is scheduled for Dec. 8. The special primary will be held Sept. 29.
House District 3A includes all or part of Cook, Koochiching, Lake and St. Louis Counties.
