Today's Morning Edition music feature is from 40 years ago today when "One of These Nights" by the Eagles was No. 1 on Billboard's pop chart.
The song was the title track from the band's fourth studio album and its second-chart topper.
Glenn Frey, the song's co-author, had this to say about the album: "We had Don Henley's voice, which allowed us to go in a more soulful direction, which made me exceedingly happy. It is my favorite Eagles record. If I ever had to pick one, it wouldn't be 'Hotel California.' It wouldn't be 'Take It Easy.' For me, it would be 'One of These Nights.'"
