Jaime Tincher, Gov. Mark Dayton's chief of staff, is promising to focus "more intensively" on managing the state-run Minnesota Security Hospital in St. Peter.
The hospital houses those considered to be dangerous to themselves and others.
A violent assault by a patient there last week highlighted once again the challenges of keeping both staff and patients safe.
The union representing the hospital's workers led Tincher and a handful of state lawmakers on a tour of the facility Tuesday afternoon.
