As the deadline passes for a nuclear agreement between Iran and western nations, MPR News host Kerri Miller talks to University of Minnesota Anthropology professor William Beeman about how Iranians are viewing the prospect for a deal.
Beeman has just returned from Iran. He wrote about his trip last week in the Huffington Post:
"Iranians overwhelmingly want Iran and the U.S. to be friends again, even if conservatives in both Iran and the United States oppose this. Aside from the economic benefits, this strong and pervasive desire for friendship between our two nations was the strongest sentiment I encountered on this trip."
