The NBA draft takes place tonight in New York. 

For the first time in team history, the Minnesota Timberwolves will select whomever they want. The Wolves won the chance to select the first overall pick. 

On Wednesday, Flip Saunders, head coach and president of basketball operations for the Wolves, 

talked about how the team is approaching its selection


MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Britt Robson, a longtime Wolves watcher, about Saunders' comments and the speculation around 19-year-old Karl-Anthony Towns from the University of Kentucky. Towns is considered by many to be the hottest prospect in college basketball this year.

Speculation abounds about who the Wolves will select in the draft.

The NBA's annual draft of college and international players will take place tonight in New York and for the first time ever, the Minnesota Timberwolves will be able to select whomever they want.  That's because the Wolves have the first overall pick. Yesterday, the team's head coach and President of Basketball Operations Flip Saunders discussed how the Timberwolves are approaching the draft.
