A severe thunderstorm watch will expire at 9 a.m. for Minnesota. Strong thunderstorms are forecast to march across Wisconsin and into northern Illinois.

Severe winds are possible as this storm complex moves through Wisconsin the rest of the day.

There is a fairly high risk of tornadoes in southern Wisconsin and northeast Illinois in the heat of the day. Storm chasers are likely headed in that direction, as there hasn't been much to chase so far this severe weather season.

In the wake of the thunderstorms, the atmosphere was reshuffled and winds gusted to 65 mph in Brookings, S.D., as well as Marshall and Worthington in Minnesota this morning.
