Minneapolis police say officers have arrested a man in connection to a shooting of a mother and her young daughter.

The mother, who is in her 20s, was walking in the park, and the 15-month-old child was in a stroller when they were both shot Thursday afternoon. Police say they were not the intended targets.

Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

In a statement Friday, Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau says she was proud of officers for making such a quick arrest.
