Showcasing a refugee community's history in America can be difficult when that community has rigid gender and generational divides.

Who controls the narrative?

Members of the Counter Stories team went to see the "We Are Hmong Minnesota" exhibition at the Minnesota History Center. The exhibit explores the 40-year journey of the Hmong in the state.

Team members especially Hlee Lee, who is Hmong, came away with mixed reactions.
