Lisbeth Salander is back. The heroine who first stomped her way onto the scene in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" proves you can't keep a good character down.

Though Stieg Larsson, the author of "Dragon Tattoo" and its two sequels, passed away in 2004, the series will continue on with David Lagercrantz at the helm. Lagercrantz is a Swedish writer and former crime journalist.

Lagercrantz's first contribution to the series will be published in September. It's called "The Girl in the Spider's Web," and according to the publisher, Silicon Valley and the National Security Agency will figure heavily in the dark plot.

The story of Lisbeth Salander, referred to as the Millenium series, became an international smash hit after Larsson's death, selling over 80 million copies worldwide. The choice to continue the series without Larsson prompted some controversy, but publishers are banking on fans to buy "Spider's Web" in big numbers: It will be released simultaneously in 38 different languages.
