MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with University of Minnesota climatologist Mark Seeley about the official arrival of spring later Friday.
He talked about record high temperatures in much of Minnesota earlier this month.
And he told Wurzer about a day back in March 1939, when the temperature changed 74 degrees in a single day in Bemidji, Minn., when the high was 42 degrees and the low was 32 degrees below zero. It was the biggest single-day shift in March that he could find in the weather records.
