The death of an unarmed 19-year-old during an altercation with police in Madison, Wisconsin last week has drawn protestors into the streets and up to the state capitol, calling for justice.
It's a familiar scene that has played out in several cities around the country since the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
But at least one thing will be different in Wisconsin: There will be an outside investigation into what happened.
That's because Wisconsin law requires independent investigations into cases with an officer-involved death.
MPR News' Tom Weber talks with Michael Bell Sr., a father who advocated for that law after his son was killed by police in Wisconsin.
