Welcome to early May?
The Twin Cities tied the record high of 66 degrees Tuesday. St. Cloud's record high of 61 degrees blew the previous record of 54 out of the water. Tuesday's records were established just three years ago in the incredible March of 2012.
The record warmth is part of an unseasonable warm bubble of air in the Midwest that pushed temperatures more than 25 degrees above average Tuesday.
How unusual is this week's warmth?
66 degrees - record high in the Twin Cities Tuesday
38 degrees - average high for March 10
+28 degrees vs. average at MSP Tuesday
May 3rd - date average high reaches 66 at MSP Airport
A quickie forecast update today as I have been in meetings most of the day, but enjoy the warmth, it hangs around all week and into the weekend!
