We hit 32 degrees in the Twin Cities today, our warmest reading since Feb. 9.  It felt cooler than 32, as blustery winds dropped windchill temps into the upper teens.

Arctic air will overspread Minnesota tonight and Wednesday, and the chilly air will linger into Friday.

Our official snow cover in the Twin Cities is only 1 inch, a stark contrast to the 20 inches that were on the ground at this time last year. We might see a few flakes on Wednesday, but more significant snow is expected over southwestern Minnesota.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for southwestern Minnesota from midnight tonight to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Marshall, Minn., could see 3 or 4 inches of snow, with over 5 inches possible in Worthington, Minn. Check forecast updates if you are planning to travel in southwestern Minnesota or Iowa on Wednesday.

It's  never too early to think about the weekend. Temperatures should recover a bit on Saturday and Sunday, with highs in the lower 20s and ample sunshine.
