Today's Morning Edition music is from the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" television program, which is featuring what it's calling "Mash-up Mondays" all month.

The show is bringing together two bands to create an unlikely supergroup. For example, last week ZZ Top and Weezer became "Wee-Z Top."

On Monday night Morris Day and the Time, who became famous with Prince in "Purple Rain," were featured. They were paired with the three sisters from the California-based group Haim. That made them "Morris Day and the Haim."

By the way, the Time is the featured band this month on our sister station The Current.
