Prosecutors have charged a 49-year-old man with second-degree murder in the Sunday night death of a St. Paul woman.
The criminal complaint, filed in Ramsey County, says Kevin Scott Evans stabbed a 38-year-old woman several times in the chest and abdomen at her apartment on the 300 block of North Dale Street.
St. Paul Police identified the victim as Miranda Schunk. Just nine days earlier, Schunk had filed an order for protection against Evans, saying he'd threatened her.
According to the complaint, video surveillance shows Evans leaving Schunk's apartment Sunday after the incident. He was later arrested at the Minneapolis Library. In 1986, Evans was convicted of second-degree murder and received a 20-year sentence.
