A Winter Weather Advisory continues for parts of southeast Minnesota, including the city of Rochester. The advisory extends into parts of central and north central Wisconsin through this evening.
Snowfall amounts have generally been two inches or less. You can track the snowfall reports from the National Weather Service here.
At 9 a.m. CST the center of the lowest pressure was located in Wisconsin — a favorable location for snow to continue for a few more hours. The overall trend is for the precipitation to lessen in intensity and coverage.
Snow was depicted on this regional radar image blanketing a large area of southeast and northeast Minnesota and northern Wisconsin. Only a few flurries have been spotted in the western metro of the Twin Cities. The better chance for an inch of accumulation is well east of St. Paul.

An inch or two of accumulation is also possible along the shores of Lake Superior, including the Duluth area.
Pretty decent travel weather is in store for the local region on Wednesday. I can't rule out a period of light snow through central Minnesota Christmas afternoon.
An icy blast of arctic air is not expected to plunge into the state, but temperatures will drop to more seasonal levels Friday night into the weekend. Normal maximum and minimum temperatures in the Twins Cities are 25 and 10 degrees for December 23.
Last week I was down in Orlando to check out the weather for the upcoming Citrus Bowl. I can report it was 70 to 75 degrees in the Sunshine State. It appears likely that spread of 40 or more degrees between Minneapolis-St. Paul and central Florida is in store come game time New Year's Day.
