Today's Morning Edition music is from "I'm a Loser" by the Beatles.
It was one of the tracks on the album "Beatles '65," which was released 50 years ago today.
John Lennon wrote the song and said in an interview that it was "me in my Dylan period." It was written soon after the Beatles met Bob Dylan and were feeling the influence of his music, among other things. It was one of their first songs to reflect a darker point of view. Lennon also said this about the song: "Part of me suspects I'm a loser and part of me thinks I'm God Almighty."
The album spent nine weeks at the top of the charts.
