Today's Morning Edition music features Omar Souleyman who will perform tonight at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis.
Souleyman was a very popular wedding singer in his native country of Syria. These days he's creating music that combines traditional Syrian dabke with electronic beats.
He has played a number of festivals in America including Bonnaroo. Souleyman currently lives in Turkey with his family but hopes to return to Syria after the ongoing conflict is resolved.
