Today's Morning Edition music is from 40 years ago this week when "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" by Bachman Turner Overdrive was the number one song on the pop charts.
Randy Bachman, who wrote the song, says it was never intended to be released. He recorded it with the intention of sending it to his brother, who stuttered, as a joke.
When BTO finished recording "Not Fragile," their third album, a record company executive told them that it lacked a strong single. Someone in the band suggested this song, which they had been using to set their levels before recording. Bachman tried to sing it without the stutter, but it didn't sound right so they left it in.
