In this episode, special guest and St. Paul school district employee Mariama Kpaka-Sengita describes her crusade to raise awareness of the Ebola crisis in her native Sierra Leone.
Sengita's father has Ebola, but she says Sierra Leonean officials demanded a $5,000 payment before he could be treated. Sengita, who has two daughters, has abandoned plans to visit Sierra Leone to assist him.
We'll also discuss what's behind the Ebola scare in this country, the American and global response to the crisis, and Ebola as a mid-term election issue.
