We've been hearing a lot in recent months about rail delays across the region. It turns out a new shipping option is opening up for farmers and business owners frustrated by those delays: boats. Some ships coming in and out of Duluth are now allowing customers to fill up a just portion of available cargo space.
That's a major change — shipping companies at the port typically require customers to pack an entire ship. MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Adele Yorde of the Duluth Seaway Port Authority about the new option.
