The song was featured prominently in a 1993 episode of the Simpsons where Bart and Lisa enlist White to perform the song in hopes that the vibrations from the low notes will attract snakes to their home where they will be safe from a mob of Springfield residents eager to kill snakes during the annual "whacking day" ritual.
The episode won a Genesis Award from the Humane Society for raising public awareness of animal issues.
