Ten years ago today, Yusuf Islam — the singer commonly known by his former stage name Cat Stevens — was refused entry into the United States when his name appeared on a "watch list" of suspected terrorists.
Two British newspapers used the incident to suggest that the musician supported terrorism. He successfully sued the papers for libel and wrote "Boots and Sand" about the incident.
