One of the Twin Cities most influential designers has passed away. Mildred "Mickey" Friedman, who was the Walker Art Center's design curator for 21 years, died Wednesday at the age of 85. Friedman, along with her husband, former Walker Director Martin Friedman, helped establish the Walker as an international design leader. She also was a key player in deciding which architects designed some of the Twin Cities most iconic buildings. MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with current Walker Director Olga Viso, who knew Mildred Friedman well.
