The general election is exactly two months away and one of the House races drawing a lot of national attention is in Minnesota's 8th Congressional District. Politico lists DFL U.S. Rep. Rick Nolan as one of the five most vulnerable incumbent House members. He is running for re-election against Republican businessman Stewart Mills.
The seat has changed parties in the last two elections. In 2012, Nolan defeated incumbent Republican Chip Cravaack who had unseated DFLer Jim Oberstar in 2010. Oberstar represented the district for 36 years.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Aaron Brown about the campaign. He follows politics in northern Minnesota. He is the author of the Minnesota Brown blog and was formerly active in DFL politics on the Iron Range.
