“Significant” severe storm risk Wednesday

It may be a bumpy Wednesday across Minnesota.

An aggressive warm front is pushing north with higher dew points and plenty of shear to drive scattered severe storms. The highest risk for severe coverage runs along and north of the Interstate-94 corridor Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Storm Prediction Center has placed most of Minnesota under a "significant risk" for severe storms Wednesday.

Be prepared for watches and warnings Wednesday. Storms may produce damaging winds, large hail and possibly a few tornadoes.
