For candidates running for statewide office in Minnesota, there is no better place to be this time of year than the State Fair. With that in mind, Democratic U.S. Sen. Al Franken and his Republican challenger Mike McFadden have been at the fair to meet voters from across the state.
While Franken is trying to make the case that he can work with Republicans to get things done, McFadden is trying to paint the first-term incumbent as one of the most partisan Democrats in Washington.
MPR News went to the State Fair to gauge what the candidates are saying and how voters are responding.
