Hit-and-run in Uptown leaves pedestrian with serious injuries

A 39-year-old man was hit by a car and seriously injured in Uptown after an argument between the victim and suspect began at the Bulldog Bar, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.

The car fled the scene. Tarrince Emmanuel Winbush was hit and found lying in the street on the 2500 block of Lyndale Avenue S. The bar is at 2549 Lyndale Avenue South in Minneapolis' Uptown neighborhood.

Police believe the argument went from the bar to the street, and the suspect got into a car and "with apparent intent," hit the victim with the car. The car also struck a scooter and another parked car at 26th Avenue and Lyndale Avenue South. No one was in those vehicles.

Police are still looking for the suspect. They say the suspect fled south on Lyndale Avenue, and surveillance video shows the suspect vehicle is described as a maroon four-door vehicle with a dark roof, according to the Minneapolis Police Department. Police describe it as a "Town Car or a Mercury Marquis type vehicle."

Winbush was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance.

"There's a lot of pedestrian and bicycle traffic through that area," Elder said. "Of course being (in) Uptown, that's a vibrant area with lots of movement 24 hours a day."
