For people who like watching planes at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, this thing got a lot of attention over the weekend.

Tyler Hastings of Hudson, Wisconsin, got an up-close-and-personal view.

It's a Soviet-built Antonov 225, the longest and heaviest airplane ever built.

It was to depart the airport yesterday afternoon, but the plane stayed another night and is now scheduled to leave town this evening.

It'll look like this (Saturday's departure from Edmonton, Alberta, heading for MSP):

Only one Antonov 225 was built. It was originally intended to carry the Russian version of a space shuttle.
