Today's Morning Edition music is the song "O Fortuna" --- the opening movement from composer Carl Orff's celebrated "Carmina Burana." The piece sets to music 24 poems from the medieval era. In the world of classical music, it's been called the best known piece of the 20th century. You may have heard it in everywhere from car ads, to rap songs. The Minnesota Orchestra will perform the piece this weekend at the newly remodeled Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis. They will be joined by the Minnesota Chorale. The performances will mark the end of the orchestra's subscription concert season.
