A local instrumental and vocal ensemble loaded with talent, a one-of-a-kind Minneapolis comedienne, and immaculately clear images of urban decay, all were on the Art Hounds radar this week.

It's the programming, but more importantly the players that make musician Rolf Erdahl want to attend The 

Ladyslipper Ensemble's "Classical Cabaret" concerts

. The next one is May 25 at 3 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in St. Paul.

When Minnesota Orchestra Principal Flutist Adam Kuenzel walked into the 

 in Minneapolis recently, he wasn't expecting a hyper-real, hypnotic photo exhibition, but that's what he got. "If These Walls Could Talk" features photographs by Cameron Torgerud of abandoned buildings throughout the Midwest. Through May 31.

Minneapolis comic Maggie Faris is heralding a new, completely original voice in Twin Cities stand-up comedy -- 

. May's next appearance will be an open-mic brunch at Cause Spirits & Sound Bar in Minneapolis, Saturday, May 24, at noon.
