Madison's annual brat fest will have a religious flavor this summer, with organizers adding a fifth stage to provide Christian music.

A Wisconsin State Journal report says the idea came from a co-owner of the grocery stores that sponsor the event. Tim Metcalfe says he was inspired by Lifest, a large Christian music festival in Oshkosh.

Brat Fest runs from Friday through Memorial Day. It's billed the world's largest brat fest.

Metcalfe says Christian music has a huge following so it'll be there for people who want it.

Mike Judge of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's business school predicts the decision will cause a flare-up on social media. But he says as long as religion doesn't become an overwhelming presence, it might help by attracting a different customer segment.
