The city of Minneapolis is polling residents to explore the possibility of turning low-traffic streets in north Minneapolis into greenways with routes for bicyclists and pedestrians, according to a statement from the city Thursday.
An online survey is collecting input from now through June 15 on the proposed route and greenway types. Neighborhood organization representatives will also knock on doors in the Near North, Jordan, Folwell and Webber-Camden neighborhoods to talk to residents who might not be likely to take the online survey.
Similar surveys took place in 2012 and 2013 for input into the concept. Based on those surveys, a proposal was developed for a greenway route mostly on Irving and Humboldt Avenues north.
