Reporter Brandt Williams wrote last week about the trial of Chase Dent-Wells, who was charged with stalking, illegal possession of a firearm, terroristic threats and two counts of assault, after he showed up at his ex-girlfriend's house on Feb. 3 and her father shot Dent-Wells three times.
The jury returned its verdict today, acquitting Dent-Wells on all charges.
During the trial, the father, Amos McGhee, testified that his daughter had a volatile relationship with Dent-Wells, and he thought Dent-Wells was going to shoot him. The father was legally prohibited from possessing a gun because of past criminal convictions, but wasn't charged with anything.
