Police: $750K, drugs seized from 'Last Place' owner's home

Duluth police say they've seized more than $750,000 in cash, marijuana, body armor and ammunition from the home of a man in jail for selling synthetic drugs.

Authorities raided the Superior, Wis., home of Jim Carlson Wednesday. He remains jailed in Sherburne County following his October conviction on 51 federal crimes. Carlson shares the home with his girlfriend, Lava Haugen, who was convicted of four federal crimes.

Duluth Lt. Steve Stracek tells the News Tribune the search was the result of information received after the convictions. He declined to be specific.

The U.S. Marshals Service seized Carlson's downtown shop, Last Place on Earth, on Dec. 12 and posted "no trespassing" signs.
