Erik Eastman, from the local bitters kit makers Easy & Oskey, shows us how to make a beautiful cocktail in time for holiday entertaining. He spices up the traditional whiskey sour with allspice, cloves and an egg white.
Winter whiskey sour
2 1/2 oz rye whiskey
1 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz rich brown sugar simple syrup
1 tsp Cynar
1 egg white
Combine all ingredients, shake, add ice, then shake again. Strain into a coupe glass, and garnish with grated allspice berry.
