The deputy chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota filed campaign paperwork today to run for the Minnesota House in District 53B.
Kelly Fenton of Woodbury is seeking the seat being vacated by Rep. Andrea Kieffer, R-Woodbury. Kieffer announced last week that she will not run for a third term in 2014.
In a news release, Fenton described Woodbury as a one-of-a-kind place.
“I’m running to represent our community in the Minnesota House of Representatives to protect our quality of life and give the residents of Woodbury a voice for efficient, effective government at the Capitol,” Fenton said.
Fenton has held her state party office since 2011. She previously worked as campaign manager for former GOP state Sen. Ted Lillie.
