CLEVELAND (AP)-- A terminally ill Ohio man who arrived at his daughter's wedding by ambulance has given her away from a hospital gurney.
The PIain Dealer of Cleveland reports that guests cried and clapped as 56-year-old Scott Nagy participated in daughter Sarah's wedding Saturday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Strongsville. A volunteer team of medical professionals helped him keep his promise to escort the 24-year-old he calls his "princess" down the aisle.
He was diagnosed last year with urethral cancer and has undergone chemotherapy. But he has been at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center since August, and doctors had been uncertain he would be able to leave for the wedding, which was initially scheduled for next year.
But with monitor cords and a tracheal tube attached, he made it.
