The Minnesota State Fair set a daily attendance record Sunday as more than 236,000 passed through the gates.

The rebound in attendance followed five days of lower than usual attendance caused by excessive heat.

The heat wave and today's much cooler temperatures could make it challenging for the fair to surpass last year's total attendance of 1,788,512.

Fair officials are expected to release the final attendance figures Tuesday.
