You don't have to be an accounting major to realize that spending two years at a community college can save you tens of thousands of dollars. By capping tuition now, Minnesota will widen the price disparity between state and private schools — unless, of course, the private schools opt to follow a similar course.
They'd be wise to do so because we believe there's much more at play here than a temporary tuition freeze and a short-term demographic shift. Indeed, we're convinced that we've reached a tipping point regarding how students and families view higher education, and there will be no going back.
