Republican Tom Emmer’s campaign announced today that Emmer raised $220,000 in the first month of his campaign for Congress. In a news release, Emmer announced that he raised the funds from more than 300 donors. The report has not yet been filed with the Federal Election Commission so it isn’t known where Emmer tapped his money.

Congressional District – an open seat now that GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann is not running for reelection. Anoka County Commissioner Rhonda Sivarajah and state Sen. John Pederson, R-St. Cloud are also running for the Republican nomination.
Sartell Mayor Joe Perske says he’s thinking about running for the seat as a Democrat.
