Sen. David Hann of Eden Prairie announced today that  he will not run for governor in the 2014 race.  In a statement, Hann said he will instead  continue to devote his attention to his role as Minnesota Senate minority leader.

Several Republicans have already announced they'll run including Scott Honour, Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson, former House Speaker Kurt Zellers and  Sen. Dave Thompson.

In the statement, Hann said he'd work to support the other candidates to help the Republicans win a majority in the House and win constitutional offices.

Hann sought the GOP nomination for governor in 2010 but dropped out after a disappointing showing in party caucuses.
