ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Groups that lobbied to advance or block legislation at Minnesota's Capitol are filing mandatory reports detailing how much they spent on the efforts.
The lobbying reports had to be turned into the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board on Monday. They were to be made public early Tuesday. They cover the first five months of the year, which largely mirrors the time the Legislature was in session.
The main groups on both sides of the gay marriage debate voluntarily disclosed their spending before the deadline. Minnesotans United for All Families says it spent more than $2 million on a successful push to legalize gay marriage, which was 10 times more than opposition group Minnesota for Marriage.
