LAKE HALLIE, Wis. (AP) -- A toddler who was rescued by bystanders when a van rolled into the Chippewa River has been placed in a medically induced coma.
A WEAU-TV report says the van rolled into the water Saturday about 5 p.m. while the driver was trying to take a boat out from the river. The current was strong enough to sweep up the van.
Three bystanders plunged into the water. One used a rock to shatter the rear window and pull Logan Buchli out. One of the bystanders performed CPR until police arrived.
Family members say Logan was in an induced coma Sunday at a Rochester, Minn., hospital
Logan's uncle had been able to pull Logan's sister from the van but by the time he went back for Logan the van was already submerged.
