Ramsey County Public Health plans to start accepting marriage-license applications from same-sex couples this week.
A revised application will be available on the vital records web page and at the office in St. Paul starting at 8 a.m. Thursday.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Minnesota has a five-day waiting period to get married. That means same-sex couples wishing to have a license issued Aug. 1, the effective date for Minnesota's newly passed same-sex-marriage law, would need to apply in person by 4 p.m. July 26.
Hennepin County also begins accepting license applications from same-sex couples beginning Thursday.
