The 2013 legislative session ended this week with the state legislature approving tax changes expected to generate $2.1 billion in new revenue.
Lawmakers did it largely by boosting income tax rates on the wealthy and more than doubling the tax on cigarettes. But they also came up with other ways to raise money.
MPR's Phil Picardi spoke with Minnesota Revenue Commissioner Myron Frans... who explained some of the new taxes.
